Adnan Januzaj scored twice and won a penalty as Manchester United U21’s romped to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Southampton in the U21 Premier League on Monday night.
Januzaj fired in from 20 yards in the 45th minute, and the hosts put the game to bed after the break with two Will Keane goals and a further Januzaj strike to make it an impressive seventh win in eight games for Warren Joyce’s side.
A 4-0 score line is perhaps harsh on the Saints who struck the bar and had a Ryan Seager goal ruled for a harsh foul in the second half.
Man Utd fans will be hoping Januzaj will soon return to the first-team fold at Old Trafford following a disappointing loan spell at Bundesliga side Borrusia Dortmund. His stellar performance against Southampton will have please boss Louis Van Gaal who also has the exciting Brazilian U20 international Andreas Pereira at his disposal.
