Lionel Messi has returned from injury in a striking pair of black, green and red Adidas Messi 15.1 boots, which were debuted in Barcelona’s 4-0 win at El Clásico last Saturday. The official name of the colour-way is ‘Black, Solar Green and Solar Red’.
The new Adidas Messi 2015-16 boots were already available to purchase on the Adidas website three months before the official launch of the boots.
The compelling colour-way highly contrasts the previous colour-ways of the Adidas Messi boot, which were the ‘Ice Blue’ and ‘White, Prime Blue and Black’. Lionel Messi along with the ‘Backed by Messi’ players will be wearing the new black, green and red boots which are inspired by his home town club, Newell’s Old Boys.
The boots’ design consists of a black base colour with red and green tones, which then gradually changes to red at the heel using a distinctive gradient line design. Unlike the previous Adidas Messi boots, the 2015-16 design boasts Lionel Messi’s trademark emblem on the forefoot region of the boot. In addition to that, the previous designs didn’t have the Adidas logo on the outer-boot whereas the third generation Messi 15.1 boot has the Adidas logo in bright green on the red heel area.
In relation to the tech-specs, the boots have been composed of a super-soft leather-like forefoot with 3D grip for the perfect touch and feel. As well as that, the boots have a synthetic lining for step-in comfort and a lockdown fit. The exposed ‘messiFRAME’ wraps around the foot the enhance the locked-in feel and fit and allows maximum traction. The boots sport a soft, lightweight synthetic upper and the messiTOUCH x-ray surface gives you a lethal grip on the ball so you can remain in control at all times, with a skeleton outsole for the utmost agility on both firm and artificial ground. Lastly, the dynamic messiGAMBETRAX stud configuration delivers better traction underfoot, so you can play at an explosive speed, just like Messi.
With what looks like the most daring design of the Messi boots, the new 2015-16 cleats have been officially released for sale at £155 on 17 November 2015 from selected retailers
